Patient Presentation : Patient visited Dr. Sohan Lal Clinic wearing a cervical collar. His C T scan of cervical spine showed C5-C6 & C6-C7 intervertebral disc degeneration with cord compressions at the same levels.


Chief Complaints : 1-Acute neck pain radiating to left upper limb. Neck movements worsen pain. Left upper limb pain associated with numbness and tingling. His professional life is suffering because of his neck pain. 2-Vertigo-There is a sense of fall on rising and on walking.


Family History : NIL


Treatment History : He was given intermittent cervical traction. He is not satisfied with the treatment result.


Follow up 1- Acute neck pain reduced by 15%. Left upper limb pain reduced by 30%, numbness and tingling reduced by 50%. Overall relief in acute symptoms.

Follow up 2-Patient had to work over time to complete his assignment which increased the neck pain. Vertigo increased and he was afraid of climbing stairs. He is advised to take some rest. Dr. Anand Kumar demonstrated him tonic neck exercises.

Follow up 3-Acute neck pain is effectively in control and he has less vertigo. He is told to slowly restart his work.

Follow up 4-Neck pain reduced by 35%. Left upper limb pain reduced by 50%. There is no numbness/ tingling in left upper limb. He has mild vertigo.

Follow up 5-Neck pain reduced by 60%. He can devote more time for his professional work. He is wearing cervical collar only at work.

Follow up 6-Neck pain reduced by 80-90%. Left upper limb mild pain. Vertigo has improved significantly. Patient has stopped wearing the cervical collar.

Follow up 7-Patient is symptomatic. He is advised to continue tonic neck exercises.


Result : Patient achieved remarkable relief. Our treatment are highly effective in the acute (neck) pain.;
